Wow. These comment spammers are getting more and more clever. There's nothing really "urgent" or "insider info" about Duvel Green. I had this beer in July during the Double Jack Imperial IPA release party at Toronado.

@Travis - Normally oxidation is a bad thing in beer there but there are oxidative characteristics I do enjoy, like the almond/sherry aromas and flavors. The '08 was just beginning to show signs of it but not as much as I'd like.

@Deano - It was great hanging out with everyone. Looking forward to the next tweet up.

Yeah, it was nice meeting everyone for the first time at the tasting. We need to get people down to our home turf in the south bay! To me the 08 was starting to taste a bit oxidized. The 09 was ok, but still a bit unbalanced. I think a blend of the two (or maybe the 09 in 6 months) would be perfect. The Super Snow Cap was a bit too sweet to me.

I've had the snowcap at the Seattle Pyramid Alehouse- not bad... But I have a more urgent bit of insider info - Duvel has a new Belgian out called Duvel Green and they have a big event I guess tomorrow night? I was in NYC and there are people out here with coasters... Supposedly it's only avail at certain bars, but one of them tomorrow you get to keep the glass when you order one! Idk I went to the website duvelgreendiscovered.com and it looks like they are doing it in Chi-town and San Fran as well...

Yeah Peter I agree with you about the beer being an excuse to go meet and hang with some cool peeps :) The beer is a bonus lol. I agree the 2008 was pretty good but since it wasn't fresh the hop characters we slim. The 2009 was my favorite since it was fresh and the hops were coming through. The super snow cap to me was unbalanced and like you said the flavors didn't really come through and identify themselves. As always it was another great time hanging with everyone :)
