As far as the fund raising goes, maybe you can solicit graduated pledges of some dollar amount per each percentage point ABV. E.g., pledge a $1 and if you get it to 30%, that's a $30 donation. That way you're motivated to get it as big as possible! I hope 1.5 gallons is enough. Ideally, that should get one bottle, but there could be weirdness in the process that I'm not familiar with.
