"The real epicenter of craft beer is happening over in the East Bay." Nice to see someone saying this other than me! ;) In fairness, a lot of the East Bay "numbers" were as goofy as calling Half Moon Bay a South Bay spot. Sacramento ain't my East Bay. At least the program said "and beyond."

Anyway, I agree, they really turned it around from last year. Some rows of portajohns and this'll be the perfect event. Good job Brian and everyone else - throwing a successful event of this size is no small feat!

Ah Peter, a wee bit touchy about the South Bay. Next year we'll all dress up in Zoot Suits and do a "West Side Story" gang fight dance with all the poser South Bay Breweries. We should create a brewery map of the South Bay and everything East, West or South will just have a pirate ship and the label "Here be dragons." Great write-up, next time I'm bringing diapers or these.

I visited the Mountain Goat Brewery last week to taste a number of their limited release and local beers. Apart from those that are bottled there are quite a number only served onsite, or in local establishments. Great to see some innovation shown in some of these experimental brews.
Form my perspective the Hightail Ale is the pick of the bunch, but others like the limited release Seedy Goat (a collaboration coffee IPA) are worthwhile checking out. The labeling of craft brews in Australia is also becoming a new ground, and love Mountain Goats newspaper style - great to read while sampling... and pushes people to pour it into a glass which helps those new to proper beer enjoying it as its best in a glass where you can take in the full aroma and flavour.

Been drinking Mountain Goat Hightail Amber Ale for years. Anytime we have a special function we get a keg of it. Once tasted there is no turning back - it is just sensational.

I am going with a group of beer drinking friends, but I do not like beer. Will there be non-beer drinks (e.g. wine or cocktails) that I could get for the $25 fee?
